Day 1:ArrivalListenelement 1Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, drive to Arusha for overnight stay in your accommodation.
-
Day 2Listenelement 2You will visit the Arusha National Park, where there are still colobus monkeys. View of Mount Meru and Lake Momella with its thousands of flamingos! Then you will go on a one-hour game drive on foot with a ranger, where you will get very close to herds of buffalo, zebras and antelopes. The destination is the Tulusia waterfall.
-
Day 3Listenelement 3Drive to the 2850 km² Tarangire National Park, through which the Tarangire River flows, which is constantly full of water. Here you can observe the large herds of elephants and other animals such as giraffes and buffalo. The park has even more to offer bird lovers: large flocks of colorful black-headed lovebirds, as well as red-tailed weavers and glossy starlings. Another attraction are the large ratites with their bushy plumage and long, thin necks - the Maasai ostriches. The landscape consists of grassland, especially on both sides of the river, open tree savannah and hills as well as rocky peaks with sparse vegetation. Baobab trees, the famous monkey bread trees that characterize the image of East Africa, are often found here.
-
Day 4Listenelement 4You have the opportunity to visit a Maasai village**. Enter the Serengeti National Park, spot lots of animals on the way to the camp. You spend the night in a tent camp, in so-called Hemingway tents with comfortable double beds, toilet and shower. At night you can hear the sounds of the animals passing close to the tents. A unique experience!
-
Day 5The Serengeti is home to a fascinating variety of species: herds of wildebeest and buffalo, elephants, antelopes, giraffes, zebras, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, hippos and a variety of birds. An extended game drive will show you the wild beauty.
-
Day 6Another game drive in the Serengeti on the way to the Ngorongoro Crater. You drive past the grave of Bernhard and Michael Grzimek on the edge of the crater, who have made great contributions to the preservation of African wildlife, especially in the Serengeti. Take a look from the edge of the crater into this extraordinary nature reserve! The Ngorongoro Crater is an extinct volcano that is several million years old. It has a diameter of around 20 km. With a lot of luck, you can see one of the few rhinos in Tanzania here. Drive down into the crater. Visit the so-called Hippo Pool. The name says it all: have fun watching the huge herds of hippos!
-
